Privacy & cookies

This page explains what Caultex Technology Ltd collects through this website, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written in plain English on purpose. If anything is unclear, email wecanhelp@caultex.co.uk or phone 01753 462025.

Who we are

Caultex Technology Ltd, Dingle House, 37 Blackpond Lane, Farnham Royal, Buckinghamshire SL2 3EA. We are the controller of the personal data described here.

What we collect, and why

When you use the contact form we receive your name, email address, any company or phone number you add, the service you picked and your message. It arrives as an email to our engineers so we can reply. We use it only to answer you and, if you become a customer, to do the work you ask for. It is not sold, shared with marketing companies or added to a mailing list.

When you email or phone us we keep the conversation in the same way, for the same reason.

Server logs. Like every website, our servers record technical details of each request (IP address, page, time, browser) to keep the site secure and working. These logs stay on our own servers and are deleted on a rolling basis.

Cookies

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. We keep them to a minimum.

  • cx_consent, strictly necessary. It remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics, so we don’t ask on every page. It lasts 180 days.
  • Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*), optional, set only if you click Accept. These tell us which pages are read, roughly where visitors come from and which devices they use, so we can improve the site. IP addresses are anonymised. Google stores this data for us under its own terms. The cookies last up to two years.
  • Staff login cookies are set only when a member of our team signs in to manage the site. Visitors never get them.

You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. If you reject analytics after accepting, we remove the Google Analytics cookies from your browser.

How long we keep things

We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any work that follows, and for as long as the law requires for business records. After that they are deleted.

Where your data lives

This website and our email run on servers we own and operate in the Thames Valley. Two things come from Google: Google Analytics, only if you accept it, and the site’s typefaces, which your browser fetches from Google Fonts (this sets no cookies).

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict it. Email wecanhelp@caultex.co.uk and a person will reply. If you are not happy with how we handle it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If we change how we use your data, we will update this page. Last updated October 2026.
